Papalote

Papalote isn’t your average taqueria, which is both good and bad. Good because its tastier than everywhere else, bad because its usually really busy and full of hispters and yuppies. There's a lot of white people hanging out inside of this place, but it tastes like real mexican food. What really wins me over here is their salsa and the soyrizo. Theres not many places that use soyrizo, and of the places that do, I think papalote is the best. I know Mariachi’s uses soyrizo as well, but paplote makes a superior burrito by far. Everything else the put in the burrito is delicious and made the way it should be. They have refried black beans, perfect guacamole and the don’t put too much rice in the burrito.

They also have a vegetable burrito, marinated tofu or tofu molé burrito, bean and rice burrito and pleanty of real meat options as well. Typically I don’t like vegetables in my burritos, they’re usually soggy and taste out of place. For the veggie burrito they just use potatoes, mushrooms and carrots. I don’t like carrots, but since they make everything to order I can get it without carrots and nothing tastes soggy, and I think potatoes and mushrooms complement a burrito well. There's also have a grilled veggie burrito with zucchini and eggplant, if thats your kinda thing. I like eggplant but I don't want to try it in a burrito, thats just wacky.

And then theres the salsa, I can’t even explain how good it is or what they put in it. Its the best salsa I’ve tasted in my entire life. Sometimes they are stingy with the salsa, although they are getting much better about this I’ve noticed.

That's 19 in 20 places in SF. Especially in the Mission and the Panhandle. I don't see what that has to do with a particular restaurant.
